Lean In Luncheon

LEAN IN LUNCHEON

SHARING A MEAL, STORIES, AND WISDOM

Lean in Luncheon is an opportunity to have conversations about calling and career while building relationships over a meal. With Jesus, food and life lessons seemed always connected—We can think of few better ways to enjoy each other’s company and learn from each other.

Sponsored by various organizations—including AdventHealth, Adventist Young Professionals, Southwestern Adventist University’s Pathways to Success, Southwestern Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Texas Conference Young Adults, Young Adult LIFE, and Younger Generation Church—the hope is to foster intergenerational relationships, offer vocational discipleship, and glean mentoring insights into calling [vocation] as well as career [occupation].

Leadership begins with listening.
— Scott Cormode

In listening carefully to each others stories, we hope to build connections and glean insights that will bless all generations. Fostering relationships among leaders, innovators, and culture shapers, we can serve one another in love. We are better together, and servant leadership is best expressed in community. LEAN IN LUNCHEON SOFT LAUNCH // DECEMBER 11, 2021 // 11:30AM

Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church
4409 Pleasantview Drive, Arlington, TX 76017-1427

LEADERSHIP BEGINS WITH LISTENING
This weekend we took advantage of Elder Tony Anobile, Southwestern Union of Seventh-day Adventists Vice President, preaching at Younger Generation Church and Burton Adventist Academy to do a soft launch of "Lean In Luncheons" a new initiative to build intergenerational leadership and nurture vocational discipleship.

Partnering with Adventist Young Professionals and Southwestern Adventist University's Pathways to Success, YG hosted a listening session where young adults shared their hopes, dreams, and concerns about church life. Pastor Tony was empathic and inspired by the conversation sharing his commitment to continue to build bridges for relevant change partnered with young adults ready to engage cultural transformation both inside and outside of the denomination.

The meal and conversation concluded with a anointing prayer over Elder Anobile. "What a profound moment for me, to have young adults pray over me," reflected Pastor Anobile. "Thank you so very much."
